This is true. Core is a huge liability to Bitcoin. I don't agree we should turn Bitcoin fully into a Monero clone, but having a Monero drivechain would improve things by a lot. Unfortunately Core will never merge any Drivechain code or it is impossible for normal people to dethrone Core, only miners can do that by doing a MASF using https://bip300cusf.com/cusf.pdf.
