And fwiw core is not bitcoin. Core does not require input outside of core to make no-consensus changes, just rough agreement amongst themselves.
Again I reiterate, core can do whatever they want with core and you can choose to run core or something else. Same as it ever was (going back to the days when bitcoin had a single maintainer even)!
