TBH I get most of my information in this context from the Internet.
For me books are mainly about fiction (sci-fi mainly), cooking, or sometimes computer science. Oh, a bit of gardening too.
Actually I will say that I gained strong element of my general ethos from Bill Mollinson's "Introduction to Permaculture" which I first read cover to cover as a 12 year old. (Reminded as I am sat next to the reprint I bought a few years ago.)
