I haven't seen it either. From what I can tell, the translation that Nolan used emphasized xenia, a Greek concept of hospitality attributed to Zeus. In the story of the Odyssey, Odysseus makes mistakes and suffers for them, but it's only after he shouts his real name to Polyphemus that a god (Poseidon) takes it personally.
