Yes, also a lot are rich kids with their parents money trying to be cool and it's just their connections and status that makes the crap luxury. Even old luxury brands that used to be high quality are just cheap knock offs of what they used to be these days as well, the actual quality standards for luxury dropped.
In like every sense, housing clothing, airline travel, accommodation etc. these days luxury just means overpriced
