Solana Network experienced near-critical downtime as a routing failure at Teraswitch took ~28.83% of staked SOL offline. This brought the network close to a halt, with only 4.5% margin from the finality threshold (requiring >66.67% staked SOL online).
The outage impacted ~90 validators. Marinade's AS20326 network saw ~94% of its 119M staked SOL (27.34% total) go offline. An additional 14.1M SOL from other providers was also affected.
Network requires >66.67% staked SOL online for transaction finalization. ~28.83% offline meant it was close to the 33.34% offline threshold for halt.
Disruption lasted ~33 mins. Affected validators lost ~333 SOL in rewards.
