Honestly FreeBSD gets a lot of flack for "not being for desktops" but it was my daily driver for close to a year, before recently switching to ElementaryOS. It's got some rough spots for desktop use but It's software support is really within spitting distance of linux.
I just wish (A) they could get some agreement in the project, against AI.
AND (B) I kinda wish a desktop environment other than Elementary's OSes Pantheon DE would take a principled stand on AI. AND then get that packaged in FreeBSD ports.
I just don't see either happening anytime soon though.
