Most of our song writing starts with our guitarists having an idea and our bassist writing lyrics and a melody. many of our lyrics are more poetic than telling a particular story, however I would say this song's lyrics definitely draw on past experiences/relationships and feelings that they evoke. I would say in our own way, we are each emotional people, but our bassist in particular often writes lyrics about the good and bad times that romantic relationships can bring you. In this case, about leaving a relationship that took a turn for the worse.
