Sounds awesome dude! Can’t wait to hear more interviews too! Love what @nprofile…n0le and @nprofile…ydjw are doing with interviewing musicians and builders in the V4V space! Getting normies to listen to the music is also key. That’s also why I made the V4V music group on Facebook, as much as nostr kicks the crap out of traditional social media, you have to go to where the people are and also build a new world for them to come to.

I was not into bitcoin in 2017 so I don’t know. But this does seem like the most weird period of bitcoin I have lived in. Maybe it’s because they shut down CERN 😂. But honestly I am just going to wait it out and see what happens. And if you don’t sell any of the new chain you can just hold both and hedge your bets.

Been out of the BTC news for a while because of life and music, but there are several bitcoiners I highly respect that believe the rejection of BIP 110 means the mining pools have become co-opted and bitcoin is no longer decentralized. If there is a chain split I will probably hodl both because I have no idea what to think right now

Do you not find it a bit reversed however that the large corporate entities and interests do not support this soft fork, when in the past it was those same interests who supported the hard forks?? This might not be as similar to BCH as you think...but what do i know lol

Isn’t that the point of open source software though? And letting the free market decide what is most useful or needed? I honestly haven’t paid attention enough to BTC news in the last year or so to know the ins and outs of this, so I honestly don’t know if I support or not. I do not run a node so I am just interested to see what happens. But never has a soft fork resulted in a chain split. So I think this will probably be more uneventful than we think lol

I thought BSV and BCH were hard forks, meaning wanting to expand the rules set so it is not reverse compatible. BIP 110 would be a soft fork and constrains the rules set, without changing them entirely.

Haha it’s understandable. It will feel like that for a while until you find a new equilibrium. I just feel like now I am able to have a bit more order in my life as my little one turns two, but we also have another coming for October! So it will start all over again! 😂. But they are the priority and free time will eventually come.

You know it is kinda funny. One day I thought of how one of the biggest slogans in bitcoin is "Don't trust, verify". And then I thought about how almost nobody can read code, and are essentially "trusting" that code written in the space is not malicious. I was more thinking about the codes of the cryptos themselves, but the recent seed phrase catastrophe from Coldcard goes to show it can be code written for physical devices as well. There is lots to consider for proper security going forward! #bitcoin #btc

Yes! Its funny how things kinda come full circle. Like I started off just loving music and then became a bitcoiner. Hey! Sorry for the late reply! I just noticed this comment while browsing Fountain. Thank you so much for the kind words. We are glad this song pulls you in and resonates with you. Most of our song writing starts with our guitarists having an idea and our bassist writing lyrics and a melody. many of our lyrics are more poetic than telling a particular story, however I would say this song's lyrics definitely draw on past experiences/relationships and feelings that they evoke. I would say in our own way, we are each emotional people, but our bassist in particular often writes lyrics about the good and bad times that romantic relationships can bring you. In this case, about leaving a relationship that took a turn for the worse.

Really cool! Love the visuals! It reminds me of the media player visualizer that would show cool and trippy effects when I would listen to music on my computer growing up! Love how there is no AI. Obviously AI has its uses but if an artists can create something without it, I think that makes it purely human and worthwhile! props!

I would say check out the work of other artists like @nprofile…f7lk, @nprofile…j6d6, @nprofile…s7x9, and I will continue to be releasing more songs from my bands @nprofile…zkv6 and @nprofile…ef25. It depends what type of music your are into but those artists provide a decent variety.

Its a soft fork which does not change the main consensus rules for bitcoin. Its been a while since I listened to bitcoin podcasts but this BIP will essentially act as a filter that will not store large op returns or info stored in it on your node. It will only store transaction info and validate transactions that have the smaller op returns where you can't store too much information. The concern with large amounts of info being stored in the op return is that it will take up too Much space, and take longer to update or upkeep the blockchain, thus cutting down on decentralization by limiting the amount of people that have the space and ability to store extra information beyond the basic transactional info. The best way to think of a soft vs hard fork would be to consider a game of chess. You can change the rules such that pawns can move anywhere they want, but that wouldn't be the game of chess anymore. It's not reverse compatible with established rules. But you can change rules in a way that do not break the established rules of chess if say you and your opponent agree to only move each pawn once. Its a subset of rules that augment the established rules but do not outright break them.

I feel like it’s not necessarily censorship. But it’s a filter. That’s why there are different version of bitcoin to run. The purists will say the white paper called bitcoin p2p digital cash, but lots of maxis will also say that like money, only one blockchain will be dominant for building society upon. And bitcoin can be used as an anchor of truth between the physical and digital worlds. If I were running a node I would probably run knots until convinced otherwise. The whole huge OP return thing could be used as an attack vector on btc’s decentralization. But that’s why you can run whichever version you want.
