If I work hard on a model/avatar, or pay for one to be made, I might feel a bit annoyed if someone can just start using it.
But I know that people will always try to get and use other's avatars and fighting that might be as vast a battle as publishers trying to fight piracy.
But I have no idea on the technical specs. In my dream world, the avatar creator would have some kind of credit permanently attatched, and be able to control who can use the avatar. If they want it to be totally free for anyone to take, joy. If not, cool. Possibly even a built in payment system to gain access to buy-to-use avatars or whatnot.
The protections could prolly be the 80 side of 80/20. Protective enough that the majority of users won't get around it, but those really obsessive nerds might, fine... (but then the nerds might share with the normies, oh brother...)
