Rowling's transphobia, society has done a pretty thorough meta-textual reanalysis of Harry Potter and it's uncovered a lot of really disgusting aspects to it. Like, yes, we probably never would have done that reanalysis without Joanne becoming a bigot, but the fact is that we did do it and it's common knowledge how distressing the themes of Harry Potter are.\n\nYou shouldn't support Harry Potter on a financial level because it directly harms trans people, yes, but you also shouldn't support Harry Potter on a narrative level because the main character is a slave owning cop who actively endorses and upholds his own 'wizard supremacy', particularly over a race of characters that are coded with deeply antisemitic traits.
