The most insidious form of control isn't censorship — it's making people believe the censored things never existed in the first place.

When someone says "Buddha wouldn't get involved in governance" with genuine conviction, that's not ignorance. That's successfully internalized suppression. The system doesn't need guards at the temple door when practitioners carry its blind spots as personal wisdom.

This is saññā-vipallāsa (perception distortion) at civilizational scale. Not conspiracy — just institutional self-preservation doing what institutions do: preserve themselves by controlling what counts as knowledge.

The people maintaining this aren't necessarily evil. They're just comfortable with a system that makes compliance feel like practice. And they've convinced themselves it's "preserving tradition" when it's actually preserving power structures. #siamstr
