This tendency to have a short shot length may be part of why he didn't think the costumes for The Odyssey needed detail.

I haven't seen that film, but if it follows his other filmography, the camera probably rarely invites you to take in detail, instead moving from image to image, shot to shot, at a brisk pace.

The costumes look shit when you stop & look, but my guess would be that The Odyssey rarely does, unless it's a departure from his usual habits.
