I came here to suggest this. You'd likely get dumped into a console terminal shell. If so, you would then run the suggested journalctl command.

Also, I don't think you need a root password; I believe you can still use "sudo -i" to get a root login shell.

Finally, the screen response suggested three options, I think. I would've tried them all.
