We consulted with other open source projects like KDE and Thunderbird which have seen a lot of success funding their FOSS work through similar lightweight prompts in the software itself.
The GNOME Foundation relies on end users for funding, but many don’t even know we exist and are a nonprofit that they can help donate to in order to fund important and impactful projects.
