Monero is what happens when the Reese's peanut butter cup of Cryptocurrency, cypherpunk and economist is almost 100% cypherpunk.
Bitcoin is almost a 50-50 mix.
I love how cool monero is. Economics however is very much an afterthought. Auditability is part of the trust in the system. Also supply (stock) of the asset isn't predictable with tail emissions.
But that is not to say I don't love the fact that no one can trace not only a transaction to an individual but if that individual is even in possession of that Monero anymore. Giving out a Monero address doesn't immediately reveal anything about me. All amazing stuff.
