Really enjoyed the Minecraft movie for what it was, a fun family romp. Jack Black was awesome. Jason Momoa was fabulous. Great performances all around. The cinema we were in was filled with a whole bunch of kids and every time there was a specific Minecraft in-joke or a line from the trailer ("I AM STEVE") or something especially triumphant happened, the whole place erupted in applause, which sounds like it would be annoying, but it was actually quite endearing. Anyway, I'm guessing the movie won't be for everyone, but we had a blast at least!
