As far as I can tell, it's more or less something I got from my older sister through unconscious imitation because I had not yet developed emotional boundaries.
I have always wanted to be open & honest about who I am. I have always wanted to do things my way without reference to what other people think. I have always wanted to speak, act, & dress how I like.
Those are core characteristics of mine that are extremely at odds with all this fear I have carried.
