Just as denial of 1948's crimes fueled decades of conflict, refusing to face today's atrocities risks even graver consequences. True reconciliation demands confronting historical wrongs, however painful; denial and myth-making only breed endless violence. I would add that whatever lies ahead, Israel's legacy (born artificially in 1948 against the will of Palestine's majority) will forever be tied to crimes against humanity.
