I was merely referring to the 50 or so who aren't terminally mentally diseased.
I'm pretty much ops complete with mine. My once-great relationship with them fell apart when the Army tried railroading me out of the service over false charges stemming from a fed entrapment op. The Army easily turned them against me with the bullshit story they readily believed over their own son because in their eyes, a military prosecutor would never tell a lie; that they represent the final vanguard of truth, justice and the American way- the best of the best of the best...with honors (scout salute!). Even after the case was dismissed for the charade it was, they simply felt that I weaseled my way out of accountability.
And they learned to hate me even more with my choice of wife. In their eyes, her Russo-Persian heritage embodies all that is evil on this planet, because Russia & Iran bad.
My brother told me that years ago, they actually confided in him that they would have been 'far more welcoming & completely receptive to reconciliation' if my choice of mate was black, jewish...or a man.
So yeah, I agree with you.
