You don't need to know how to program to use Linux, and I'm continually baffled when people say that. My problems with Linux distros isn't about having to code up and compile some magic sauce to get them to work, my problem is that they're opinionated about what they bundle and make changes that they probably shouldn't.
Let's take my issue with Linux Mint for example. It's not some problem where you need to go program up a solution, it's that I don't like the default settings they have for their app store. It'd take users flipping one setting in order to fix it, but it still bugs me that users even have to do that.
You can buy a System76 laptop or a Tuxedo laptop, or even laptops from bigger manufacturers that come running Linux, it's just that most people don't. If you had a laptop you bought that came running Linux you'd probably be able to use it just fine.
