As an example: I just scanned a pharma research site that listed 104 manufacturers of duloxetine.
4 of which are in the US, one of those is the brand name cymbalta. Of the other three, news reports show that 2 of them have had dulox recalls because of cancer causing chemicals added in formulation.
My generic dulox, when I picked up this week for a one month supply, was a cash price of $500+. If insurance hadn't negotiated it down, there's no way I would have picked it up. My beloved's heart meds, retail price 250, daughters seizure meds over 100. The tariffs shouldn't have doubled med prices already, but they did at our pharmacy.
We're middle class and I'm worried about availability and pricing of drugs that keep Beloved and Daughter alive. (I can live albeit uncomfortably without dulox)
How in god's name is someone making the still current 1990's minimum wage of $7 an hour going to afford meds? (or food)
