The complexity of your region has over 4000 years of troubled history. From Egypt, Greece, Rome, western Europe Imperialism, and more recently Nazism, Soviets and yes, US policing intervention.
It sucks that innocent people are always in the middle of the struggle. I'll leave it at this, my father-in-law said "How can we expect world peace when we can't get along with our next door neighbor?" I don't know the answer. I do know that it is not only the current administration looking for hegemony in the region, but US foreign policy for at least the last 10 administrations.
I'm sorry that you are in such a crappy situation. From my perspective inside the great American giant, I'm insulated from your great deprivation. I can empathize, but I truly don't know your daily pain.
