According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, Iranian cruise missiles struck the tankers Mombasa and Bahia while they were transiting the southern channel of the Strait of Hormuz in Omani waters.
The ministry said one Indian crew member aboard the Mombasa was killed, while eight others were injured, including four who sustained serious wounds. The injured reportedly include six Indian nationals and two Ukrainian nationals.
Both vessels suffered structural damage and caught fire following the strikes. The ministry said the fires have since been extinguished.
