You could easily search for them on the internet, but here’s one.
Albanese compared Gaza to Nazi concentration camps, stating it’s "the largest and most shameful concentration camp of the 21st century." This has been criticized as Holocaust inversion—a form of distortion that weaponizes Holocaust terminology to demonize Israel while diminishing the unique historical reality of Nazi concentration camps where millions of people were systematically murdered.
While it’s true there are poverty-stricken areas of Gaza which get highlighted in the media over the last 2 decades (that is, since Israel unilaterally withdrew from the region), there were a lot middle-class and wealthy. Most people don’t get to see (or don’t look) what Gaza was like but it used to have multi-story malls, mansions, car dealerships, and foodie culture, etc. In fact, even now, despite all claims of famine (which have been demonstrably proven false and quietly recognized by even the UN), there are numerous influencer Instagram accounts showing brand new cafes and restaurants. Today. You can look them up.
Words matter. Treblinka and Auschwitz, for example, didn’t have malls, restaurants, or car dealerships for its “inhabitants.” They had nothing to offer but death.
Gaza is under Hamas control (and to some degree, other anti-Hamas groups like the Popular Forces which are connected to what’s left of ISIS), and it built the largest civilian bomb shelter in human history underneath Gaza. Except, no civilians are allowed into it — only Hamas fighters. Hamas makes sure that its turned are guarded the ingress/egress is frequently under civilian homes, schools, and hospitals. All of this is documented.
But people like Francesca don’t want to talk about the horrors *Hamas* (the entity in control) is inflicting on the ordinary people of Gaza who just want to go about their lives. She doesn’t talk about how Hamas treated women or Christians in Gaza. She just wants to sensationalize and lie. The situation there is bad enough without that.
