Here in France, I’ve been reading in the media for over a year that Europe will be the region hardest hit by climate change – you can find some articles online (a few below). However, many years ago, I remember hearing that it would be the countries in the Global South that would be most affected, with Europe having to deal with millions of climate refugees from the "south" - their deepest fear.
The French corporate media has been attributing the wildfires to human actions, which are exacerbated by heatwaves and drought-like conditions that increase the likelihood of fires. The fires are started by humans, either intentionally or accidentally, and spread due to poor climate conditions and dry vegetation. I don't know how media from other European countries are dealing with this subject.
