I think one thing I haven't made clear about my feelings about Nolan is that I don't think it's bad to like his films.
They are broadly likable. This is factually true: lots of people really like his films. Many love them.
I don't really take issue with that.
I take issue with mistaking interesting brainteasers with profoundly thought-provoking art. Frankly, I don't think most people who enjoy Nolan's films make this mistake.
A portion of Hollywood worships the guy though.
