In my mind, "that's fair" is kinda meant to be a begrudging acceptance. Like, when I say it, I mean it as either a "that's valid enough but I still disagree on some level, yet I don't have the energy or the subject doesn't warrant the energy it'd take for me to explain how I disagree and I'd rather pivot or drop it" or I mean it as, "I hadn't thought of that, and I'm mad that I didn't think of that, so I'd rather not dwell."

The fact that it kinda comes across as low-effort is a feature, not a bug I'm tired, I don't have much effort left to give.
