how is that giving control over to "luke",
versions of nodes just exists, you choose to run it.
nobody is voting luke to be the maintainer of bitcoin.
if people like his client they run it.
if they like the upgrade they run it as well.
its a simple change, that reduces unnecessary data in some fields.
and removes unnecessary op codes from tapscript. its not rocket science.
a few lines of change, you can fit all of the changes in a single screen.
and its temporary, so if it breaks something we dont want it to break we can change it later, we dont have to hard fork of it back.
