Pensioners can't afford heating? That's more hospital trips.

Disabled folk can't afford various life-enabling adjustments? That's more jobs lost, so more unemployment benefits.

People can't afford to eat? That's more illness to treat, and more shoplifting to prosecute.

People are so desperate they self-medicate? That's more drug use to manage.

People can't get dedicated services to help them off drugs? That's more police intervention.

Somehow, politicians just can never see the false in the economies they claim. It's that lack of joined-up thinking again.
