EPP cites NCMEC 2024 as data source. Their statistics for 2024 indeed has 20 milliion reports per year, but for the ENTIRE WORLD (not the EU) and for all types of services.
The correct number:
In 2024, EU received 344K reports about interpersonal communications services per year. If all of them disappered because scanning stopped, that would mean about 945 reports missing per day.
