Completely Random Thing, about leftist anti-semitism:
My dad's an old commie so of course he's had various anti-semitic sentiments over the years.
When I was a kid, living near the city of Izmir, a big shopping mall opened nearby called Kipa. I've a faint memory where we're sitting on the bus with my dad, and he starts telling some dude sitting across him about how all the big shopping malls are owned by Jews. "The name Kipa refers to the Kippah that Jews wear on their head!" The dude was quite disinterested and was basically going "mhm" the whole time. Anyway, I was young but already knew a thing or two about anti-Jewish conspiracy theories, so I was quite weirded out by my dad talking like that.
After randomly remembering this just now, I've decided to "research" it a little and see if there's any truth to it. Comes out the name Kipa is just short for "Kitle Pazarlama A.S." which is Turkish for "Mass Marketing, Inc." more or less. It was founded by ~100 Turkish investors, then acquired by Tesco and later Migros. No Jewish founders, owners, or investors to be seen.
