I use an Nvidia RTX 3060 on Ubuntu Studio 24.04. It was easy to install.
Short version:
sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall
Then reboot.
EDIT: Using OBS from the OBS PPA now can use NVENC as GPU encoder up to 4:4:4 RGB h264, and also DaVinci Resolve works with CUDA and hardware OpenCL, and the NVENC encoder is also available in Shittyworks, pardon, Lightworks. The latter is sweet for exporting social media video as h265 quickly.
