YT Premium as an ad-blocking solution is quite disappointing because it only blocks YT itself from inserting ads. Unfortunately, the channel owner is under no obligation to serve ad-free versions of their content to YT Premium subscribers.
It's like the false promise that if you had a REALID driver's license, you'd never need to present any other identity documents since it's effectively the gold standard of ID. That turned out to be total BS because everyone still asks for birth certificates, social security cards, etc.
