Definitely a dichotomy. While I would be the first to agree that Britain itself as Country or even Sovereign Nation has become irrelevant on the global stage, particularly over the past decade.
Brits as a people are far from irrelevant, when you consider that Brits always seem to about or thereabouts when great things happen.
We are an island people that are always underestimated and at the same over achieve. Our time will come again.
