I think I know what you mean. I wasn't sure what to take seriously as a risk since so much of the danger is undercut for laughs, and the superheros seemed SO overpowered.
Kara kind of bugged me as a character because when underpowered she still knew how to fight (really well) and it felt like that came out of nowhere given her behavior and the flashbacks we see of her life.
