FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE BACKS REVISED CLARITY ACT
The Fraternal Order of Police, representing more than 382,000 law enforcement officers, has formally endorsed the revised CLARITY Act after reviewing its updated text.
The group says new clarifying language preserves law enforcement’s ability to investigate digital asset-related crime while addressing concerns it previously raised.
It also praised provisions expanding anti-money laundering tools, improving information sharing, strengthening fraud prevention, supporting state and local enforcement, and clarifying that protections for non-custodial software developers do not shield those who intentionally facilitate criminal activity.
The FOP says its initial concerns have been satisfactorily addressed and is urging Congress to pass the amended bill.
