Now there's something like 70GW of offshore wind farms under various stages of construction (some planning, some actually pouring concrete and erecting turbines). But even so. To increase the electricity generating capacity to meet the list of new connections waiting for power would be the equivalent of building 39 hinkley point C power stations. Or >8300 15MW wind turbines (assuming 100% capacity factor). That's a mind boggling amount of new electricity generating capacity.
