13 years ago an incredibly intelligent Russian guy created a privacy preserving public ledger, and correctly used proof of energy to statistically mitigate the double spending risk.
The cryptography and implementation was state of the art, and to this day the codebase lives on in one of the most widely adopted altcoins in the market.
Kind of crazy that a once in a century level of genius was directed at creating an outright scam simply because it grew up within a fiat world.
