Look.. I typically do not tell people what they should believe or not believe any more.. I just don't have the fucking patience for willful stupidity and I don't have the crayons to draw everything out. And even when I explain things to people with all supporting facts and data, they say "well just because you work in the [technology] field doesn't mean you're right". Ok.. but it certainly doesn't mean that you are when you lack or refuse to accept the facts that you are holding in your hand and are staring you in the face.

Specifically I'm talking about Data Centers and technological progress. Are more data centers being built than say 10 years ago? Yes. How many? Census Bureau's Value of Construction Put in Place survey recently began breaking out data center construction as its own category (previously it was buried inside general office construction). Per that data, data center construction spending in 2025 grew 344% compared with 2020, reaching $41 billion. That growth has continued into 2026: data center construction spending climbed from about $39.8 billion (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in April 2025 to $50.7 billion in April 2026, and data centers now account for roughly 2.3% of all US construction spending, surpassing spending on general office construction for the first time. Our World in Data, using the same Census source, found that as of January 2026 US spending on data center construction exceeded $2.4 billion per month — about 16 times the level in early 2014

Why? Well, the broad answer is AI. But why is that happening? Because every fucking thing you do on Facebook, Insta, and on your branded SMART phone.. (not CELL phone) requires the data centers. You can say "I've used Facebook for years.. and they didn't need those data centers before.."

Here's one for you - THIS AIN'T THE SAME FUCKING FACEBOOK. This one is dealing with more user adoption and interaction than ever.. and more process and procedure enforcement that CANNOT scale for humans to manage. At ALL. In the time I was at Amazon we had to deal with 500 million.. product changes per day from the 52 BILLION WITH A "B" items in the Amazon catalog.. they had to be scanned for changes to determine accuracy of the listing, if the item could be shipped by air or not, if the item was LEGAL for sale in the US. The list goes on. There was ZERO way humans could manage that review process. So how was it done? AI.. that's how.. and now it's leveraged more than ever. Your smart phone? It listens to you CONSTANTLY. You get a notice on your phone saying something about where you are and if you need your boarding pass for your airplane.. AI. Facebook.. uses AI and LLMs constantly now to deal with the myriad of legislation that gets shoved down their throats by global governments to ensure compliance with every damn regulation that comes up every other day.

You all who are worried about Flock cameras have one in YOUR ASS POCKET 24x7. Actually worse than that.. you are ONE Law Enforcement Request away at ANY time from one of the major cell providers handing over everything you do and/or say on your device.

You don't like what I'm saying? Too fucking bad.. you don't want this happening to you? Simple fix..

Get a flip phone (or better yet go back to a copper pair of wire in your house).
Delete ALL of your social media accounts. And I mean ALL of them.
Never pick up an android and iOS device ever again. EVER. Do not even SPEAK near them.
NEVER use Amazon, or any shopping-dot-com app. Pay cash and take yourself to the store.
Use NO internet connected devices in your home.. IoT is OUT for YOU.

But don't tell me that the data centers are not needed when you are using the exact technology that is REQUIRING their existence.
