There's lots of options while still being self sovereign.. the naming layer being
hosted doesn't mean the sats are.
Zeus Pay gives you a lightning address that settles on your own node, and its zaplocker uses hold invoices so payments survive you being offline. Alby Hub does the same over NWC. Both self-custodial.
Or npub.cash — your address is just <npub>@npub.cash, payments land
as cashu tokens you claim whenever you open the app. No domain, no node, no uptime requirement.
Or even just primal Spark wallet.. sits between custodial and running your own channels - operator
set for liveness, unilateral exit on-chain. Fine tradeoff.
