I am not in any way an expert, but it’s my understanding that neutrinos are created in flavor eigenstates (determined by the reaction that creates the neutrino), which are not also mass eigenstates, and this is what causes the oscillation. I don’t think it’s currently possible to measure the mass of a neutrino directly, so I don’t think we worry about mass eigenstates.
