What country are you in and how much is the candy?

In the US a merchant who has a Square POS - point of sale - they're being charged $0.15 for the transaction and then 2.6% for the total purchase price. So for a candy bar that's a bit over $1.00 that's close to $0.20 the merchant is paying. For the merchant doing lots of little transactions this is big. I'd lead with that. I'm happy to write something up for you in a couple of weeks when work calms down. I love doing this!

And how ofter do you think your son will go to the merchant?

I wouldn't lead with the "no chargebacks" angle - I'm not sure a merchant selling candy thinks that's a good thing, but maybe I'm wrong. But I would lead with "my son's going to come by here often if you accept it."

I fully agree with that sending him some sats makes sense. I need to do that with the coffee shop guys I'm trying to onboard. But honestly, I might give up. They own "crypto" and are the decision makers and use Square and haven't turned on the bitcoin option. At what point am I a bother to them?

Here's some thoughts for US folks. A brewery owner has a lot to gain if they accept bitcoin and holding half of it.
