One time a cybersecurity dude came and spoke at our college… this was many moons ago when I still smoked cigarettes and he and I just happened to be sneaking a Marlboro red behind the no smoking signs on campus at the same time- {aside} I’ve honestly met my best folks sneaking cigs

He told me a story about an undisclosed company who knew they had a rat among them leaking trade secrets to a competitor… corporate espionage he called it.

Not all that interesting today (but in 2011 as a 19yo it was crazy to me)… what was interesting was how they figured out who it was. They had the CEO leak different made up information to each member of his team… so when the information was leaked they knew exactly who it was. Without a shadow of a doubt.
