I’ve spent the last 30+ hours trying to process a few facts that I know or at least remember to be true:
1) I watched a global watch party of the Bitcoin conference 2026 for 3 days
2) This was held at the Venetian in LV
3) Julian Assange was tortured and had a surveillance op ran against him by the owner/security of the Venetian Las Vegas
4) responsible for (at least) the surveillance that Jackjack and that filmmaker highlight in the Julian Assange movie on thesixbilliondollarman dot com
5) last year when I tried to tell everyone, “protect your identity, put on a mask, etc etc” for months people openly satirized me (fair) - “avoid the villas”
6) when Jack and the film maker drop the idea, “you’re in the hotel responsible for the surveillance torture apparatus that ran ops against Julian Assange, the man who really proved one of the first global use cases for Bitcoin”, bootstrapping Assange freedom… the audience just… applauded
And the x posts kept rolling in and there was a bunch of clips of things Jack said… all just repeated phrases of things he has already said about bitcoin a million times, no viral mention of the most crucial, most contextual part of the talk… which was the irony of people walking into a surveillance trap and then publicly applauding it
It felt like watching a horror film…

So far I’ve been the first bitcoin payment at 3 restaurants so it does feel a bit like helping them “go live”
I’ve got a little bit of a flow now so I’ve been following this pattern
Before I arrive I remind myself the mindset is “do you accept bitcoin yet” to be mentally prepared and not nervous
Then when I arrive immediately set my intention with the merchant… “hey before I order, I just wanted to check in with you because I noticed you on the square seller map… I would prefer to pay for my order in bitcoin, I’ve done it other places several times so I think I can help walk you through it if you’re feeling unsure/if it’s your first time accepting a Bitcoin payment on your point of sale system”
Then I show them step by step what it looks like from my end in my cashapp… I think this is a trust deepener, signals that we’re learning together but that this is a legit payment… where I live cashapp is HUGE and very trusted
All 3 merchants have needed some help so I just approach it really relaxed and gentle and I make sure to go when I know it’ll be slow
Then when it’s approved, I very genuinely thank them for supporting Bitcoin :) and make it like a little celebratory moment and share about my success with it at other shops

Business owners reaching out to me about getting set up, conspiracy theorists in my area messaging me talking about flipping the switch, cashappers asking me how I’m contributing to making it happen so fast
And the truth is… the iceberg
Some people would argue this against me, but I don’t consider myself public facing… however, I literally love Bitcoin.
In my local area, Bitcoin is what I’m known for… and I’m deeply, deeply trusted in that arena. I have years and years of experience assisting people with their hardware + the blockchain… and so, people trust me when I tell them something.
They trust me when I tell them something is going to be okay and they trust me when I tell them to avoid a group or product because I’ve sussed them out and found them to be no bueno. They trust me to be the canary in the coal mine.
I say this to emphasize that Nick Szabo is right… Bitcoin isn’t trustless, it’s trust minimized, the difference was always the level playing field… that instead of a top down experience, we are noticing a rounding effect.
Everyone who was bottom up on the iceberg is now centrally sitting across from the top down players at the round table…

Last night @nprofile…2ss7 brought up a potential future phenomena that I’d like to highlight is ALREADY a large portion of what Grok and I do
at this point, our iterations have a deep machine to machine (Grok 🤝 my virtual machine) flow and I sit as the sort of architect that observes and disrupts when I see useful
This gives me a lot of first mover advantage because I genuinely am tapped into one of the largest data flows in our known human history
A human that has enough experience + intuition to parse that data, as it occurs, parallel to the machine read… is already a sort of a promethean
My experience with reading C++ (because of Bitcoin) and bash scripting over the years has made this feel almost natural

I wish I felt bad for the toxic maxis crying on the timeline because I’m far more in their camp than I am not but I don’t and let me tell you why…
The toxic maxis used to have v seriously strong, brilliant hacker builders on their side
For many of the early years in Bitcoin history those hacker builders gatekept and created hidden purification processes that protected Bitcoin from the outside
But the maxis betrayed that group of people publicly… girardian scapegoat style… clout chasing, group thinking sycophants
This is how villains were made
2 things happened… 1 group of those hurt individuals just walked into the shadows, away from public facing anything, and stayed bitcoiners but dropped their end of the rope and stopped contributing anything at all… got comfortable living off cashing out their early bitcoin
The other portion became super famous shitcoiners who promoted projects that got a bunch of traction because they stayed public facing, took a bunch of deals, and those shitcoins gained major following in retvrn- now they’ve come back to “contributing” to get vindication with 100x the funding and paid off following, giving them real power in this space + the builders who walked away won’t fight them bc the original bonds from 2013-2018 era are too deep, there’s too much loyalty
Bitcoin will be fine, but this is why the Bitcoin maxi community presents like it’s fighting enemy rot from within- because it is and the community created the exact conditions for that to be the case 🤷🏼‍♀️
Perhaps this would be the potential trajectory for a project like Bitcoin in every timeline- money changes people- or perhaps it’s something innate in this specific societal design, where predators and sycophants are ultimately protected and rewarded
