p.s. I talk about my calorie app and my weight loss journey a lot, if you all can make this a bigger thing. it would be easy to refer people to sites. i think i will start a zap cooking low cal recipe book for the people i talk to.
even today, i told someone at work i will write everything i do down, but i always mention the app i use. the app is Lose It. it is phenomenal. I took a picture of my food plate because i had all these mixed veggies and it identified it for me. I didnt have to log it in.
After about 6 months of using it, I am still amazed by this app.

Meal 3 - All veggies and one potato. Smooshed it all together with some salt, hot sauce, and mustard. Kind of felt like I was having a stew dish. About 300 calories. Coffee with cream. Sugar free flavored water.
Meal 4 - Turkey Sandwich again. Two slices of Low Cal bread, two slices of turkey, one bread side of relish, one bread side of Wickles. 143 calories.
Still have 539 calories left to spend. It is almost bed time. I could have three more sandwiches and dessert. Depends how late I stay up, but most likely one more sandwich and dessert. Dessert is about 80 calories or 240...depending on which i pick. I am leaning towards the 80 calorie one because it is volume galore.
I ran out of turkey, but I have tofu left, so I may do a tofu, cheese, sandwich with the same fixings. This will up the calorie count but also be a bit more filling. If I use tofu and cheese that is 180 plus the 80 cal for bread. It is roughly around 263 for one sandwich. Plus 80 cals for dessert. I am looking at about 343.
Leaving me with 196 calories. I could have a "grilled cheese sandwich" with the remaining.
Oh, the options I get tonight.

I went to the dollar store to see if I could pick up all the supplies for day one of gardening. They didn't have the recommended seeds, but all the seeds were 15 cents on clearance, so I grabbed all of them and everything else on the list to see if I could start a garden from there. Although I don't want to use MiracleGro because somewhere along the way I heard that wasn't a healthy option, but being a limited and overwhelmed (by the idea of gardening), I decided to grab everything I could find in this one store.
I spent $16.81. Paid with the $17 I got for my birthday (literally exact amount) from my Aunt. And I received 19 cents back.
If that is not a sign to do this gardening challenge, then I don't know what to tell you.

Meal Two:
One can of Chix Noodle Soup and A Turkey Sandwich.
Soup - 140 calories
Sandwich - 145 calories
I cut out the cheese this time to save on calories, 70 or 80 for a slice. Instead, on one side I put Wickles Red Hot Sandwich Spread and the other side I put relish. Gotta say that came out pretty darn good. The two ingredients - maybe 5 calories total, if that. Toasted bread. Two slices of turkey - 60 cals.
Great way to volume eat without the excess. Normally I load the sandwich with cheese and deli meats. At least two slices of cheese and maybe four slices of meat. That is about additional 200 calories. Little things to keep eating what you want but casually cut back a bit.

Every day, I am going to do a half hour gardening project to learn how to garden for my future greenhouse.
Here is my day one plan (might have to start tomorrow due to just coming up with this idea and need a little extra time to plan).
Once a day, I do this daily challenge. Here is the first one. Simply and not time consuming. I already have a spot in mind, so that is half the battle.
DAY 1: THE SETUP DAY
Objective: Decide where your garden lives and get mentally prepared.
What You Actually Do (Step by Step)
Step 1: Pick Your Spot
Walk around your home and find a location that meets these three criteria:
Flat, stable surface — a table, countertop, desk, or even a sturdy shelf
Access to light — either a sunny window OR an electrical outlet for a grow light
Out of high-traffic areas — you don't want someone knocking it over
Do not overthink this. Your kitchen counter is perfect. Your bedroom desk is perfect. A bookshelf is perfect. Pick one spot and commit.
Step 2: Clean Your Storage Bin
Take your clear plastic storage bin and wash it with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Dry it with a towel. This removes dust and residues that could harm seedlings.
Step 3: Place the Bin in Its Spot
Set the bin where you decided. Take the lid off and set it aside. Look at the empty bin. Say out loud: "This is where my garden lives now." It sounds silly, but it makes it real.
Step 4: Gather Your Containers
Walk around your kitchen and collect 6-8 small containers. Examples:
Yogurt cups (clean them out)
Sour cream containers
Small takeout containers
Egg cartons (cut into individual cups)
Toilet paper rolls (stand them upright)
Rinse them with soap and water. Dry them. Stack them next to your bin.
Step 5: Write Labels
Take a piece of paper or use sticky notes. Write:
BASIL × 3 labels
MINT × 3 labels
CHIVES × 3 labels
If you are using a permanent marker, you can write directly on the containers later. For now, just have the labels ready.
Step 6: Take a Deep Breath
You are done for Day 1. Seriously. That is all. Do not plant anything yet. Do not buy anything else. Just rest and feel good that you have a space and a plan.
What You Film for Day 1

When I was little, younger than 6, I LOVED raw carrots. At some point, I grew out of that love. I didn't mind carrots in soup or whatnot, but I stopped enjoying them raw. I especially hated baby carrots.
Now, this year, I have developed a love for baby carrots.
Last night, I watched another YT short for a very indulgent Texas Toast. I made a batch of tofu scramble yesterday before I saw this YT short. I devised a plan to make this Texas Toast recipe for breakfast using all my tofu and low cal ingredients.
This breakfast with two cups of coffee and half n half totaled to 300 calories. 300 calories shaved off my 1592 budget. This still leaves me with 1289. I am okay with that because I can still eat 4 more meals or snacks throughout the day if they remain in that calorie range.
I have lost 20 lbs being in a calorie deficit. I had a bad couple of months. I did lose 35. But I am starting strong again. If I can have my moments, then continue to progress, it is better than where we started. It will take time and pivoting is key.
The plate I made today is boring looking, and not something to write home about, but it has a lot of thought into it, especially for bettering my health.
It is funny. If you put this plate in front of me years ago, I would have been so bored. Now, I love the freshness of it. I would love to have my own greenhouse one day where I could grow my own food. Ideally it would have berries, kale, cilantro, citrus, cucumbers, lettuce...a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I would love to wake up every morning and walk into the greenhouse to pick breakfast.
This is a life that seems peaceful. I also envision a house with a kitchen that had lots of natural light and a sink that looks out into the garden or some kind of nature view.
I designed my living space to look like this vision. It brings me so much comfort. I have been watching a lot of this feng shui guy, believe his name is Cliff Tan. Because of him, I transformed a boring bedroom into an garden oasis with multiple seating areas and more room.
It is funny how we just navigate life going with the status quo, yet a simple rearrangement can make a world of a difference.
I also now love coconut. My whole life I had despised it. You put a mounds in front of me, and I would be grossed out. Today, I will eat them all. I think this is one of my next sweet projects, a whole foods candy bar made with coconut.
Anyways, those are my new corner nook thoughts.

I just did a simple life hack for a cheesy mozzarella stick. After watching the currently viral cheese block mozzarella shorts that are cascading all over my algorithm today, I wanted that cheese pull goodness. I took a low cal tortilla wrap and a cheese stick (I used pepperjack). Wrapped the whole thing - as is - inside the tortilla, tossed it into the air fryer ... for a 140 cal snack that got rid of that yt craving. Next time, I am going to try to dust the outside of the tortilla shell with various options to either add flavor or protein to make it more filling. I am thinking of various smashed chips like the yt videos as well as ranch seasoning or parmesan.

I like these quick shorts with a fun new exercise movement, but the problem is I send it to myself and never look at that video again. I was thinking how I wished I could input that video into a frame on my dresser so I can see it as I am walking by and get inspired to do the exercise each time. I am not a tech person. I do activities. I see what works with people and adjust accordingly.
For example: for 6 months i watched people ignore an activity (offline). i then vibecoded (to the best of my technical abilities) the same activity into a really cool game. now it is one of my most popular activity night.
i was able to achieve this because i had received feedback as i was adjusting my activity concept. over many sessions, that feedback became valuable. i took that input and now i have a very popular activity.
i can't code, so you are better off joining the correct communities (like https://soapbox.pub/armada) and helping with ideas.
I think it is a stepping stone, and if you know code, then go talk to the people that can take that advice and go offer them a solution.
Solutions are how we win also.
Do you code? Do you have any ideas on how to elevate what is going on? I am pretty sure if you can find a solution, they would implement it. You know?
It doesn't happen overnight, and it keeps getting better.
For example, just read about how they went through all these nips for private dms... wild ride, and as of today, they are talking about disappearing messages within their channels....progress.

I was just watching a show on Netflix and they were reciting MacBeth, and one of the lines is similar to “Look like the innocent flower, But be the serpent underneath", and this triggers a memory. In highschool I recited Juliet's piece where she says, "oh serpent heart hid with a flowering face" or the such, and i am like, wow William Shakespeare really liked to incorporate the idea of giving off an appearance and being ruthless underneath. He liked the words flower and serpent.
Then I am like, I could go into a chat/channel (I haven't been able to play in Buzz because I dont know how to harness an agent, and it wont let me, I will wait til you all make it easier on non-techy people), but I was thinking man, imagine if i could put in the complete pdf and have agents teach me macbeth within two to four hours, by helping me understand the difficult text and acting out the play with me. Kind of be a cool way to learn.
Just sayin....
Doesn't always have to be work teams, it could be for education.

Shifting the narrative is hard, but it is amazing if you can give it a go.
They also talked about putting older men into an environment that was set in a scene from 30 years before and all of them started feeling young again.
Most people let life make them old and boring. Imagine if you did a little bit to change that narrative, to bring you to a world where you can thrive. This is going to be the new way of developing, huh? Like how Japan has a restaurant or theme for everything... we can customize realities/themes if we notice those kind of patterns. Without using vices like drugs or alcohol. We can ride those patterns of life that makes us healthier and more prosperous as a person.

I just pitched this idea to my work, but I think you will all benefit as well. If you are doing events, do a walk through, rather than a sit down. Like if you are doing a conference, set up four tables and at each table is a new offering.
I pitched a Trail Mix Walk Through as an example.
Let's say Zap Cooking attends the next Nostr Event.
They could set up Table A with Pretzels, Table B with Chocolate Chips, Table C with Peanuts, Table D with Sesame Crackers. Need a sign, a bowl, and a scoop for each table.
When a guest arrives, you hand them a cute logo'ed baggy or container, then let them build a take away snack. Maybe the twist tie is a QR code to your site.
It is an interactive experience, easy to do, and memory making. Perfect for the most awkward and perfect for breaking up that sit down and listen to me, and me, and me.
