Computers are really fast but because the vast majority of applications today are built with dynamic programming languages and the rush to moving fast and breaking things championed by VC, have blurred the line so bad that now we have slow programs
With systems language like rust, c, zig etc, simple binary search operations for example over a large space can run so fast that attempting to do this in dynamic languages would just not be practical.
The vast majority of all the fancy algorithms become almost unnecessary because these compilers have been optimized for speed.
This is probably the best use case for LLM imo, because these languages are hard to learn and not the best for rapid prototyping or thinking about new features. But the moment a feature or prototype or MVP is in place, for the sake of stability, switching the high impact areas to these system languages is always worth it

What I end up doing in these scenarios is to ensure that I have ssh-copy-id setup to the vps then get Claude code to ssh and fix the issue. Did this recently with a proxmox container running openclaw

It is like a vps but it's on- demand (no ssh setup necessary since all that is abstracted away in d cli tool). You have the ability to spin up and shutdown/pause the sandbox. Its just another option among the ever growing list of running agents in a sandbox.

Just got Claude code to resolve a production issue with a postgres container in production by using the ssh keys connected to my pc to access the server and edit the postgres config. Was thinking a bit about capitalist systems, the current problems with how it exists today and possible mitigations.
One of the biggest complaint you hear from opponents of capitalism is the tendency for monopoly which cannot be dismissed.
A bit of introspection would go a long way in understanding how businesses becomes monopolies and what could be done to minimize it.
All businesses start from zero. An ambitious entrepreneur (probably 10x individual) comes up with an idea that solves problems for lots of people. They are able to source funds from investors to grow the business. This in it self doesn't automatically make the business a monopoly. What makes it a monopoly is the business acquiring the vast majority of talents in the market to achieve their goals in such a way that others can't compete.
Now what if we had a system where ambitious and smart talents that would otherwise be scooped up by large companies are encouraged and insentivised to start new businesses which off course could fail but non the less are. They are given serious tax breaks so that more established industries could spring forth.
And already established industries are insentivised to scale their operations such that they are able to provide massive low level employments for most of the populace. Governments could use tax incentives to encourage established businesses to hire and train workers (they are in the best position to do this instead of scooping all the available talents to work for them.). And raise taxes for established businesses that choose to over leverage automations at the expense of workers.
This way, governments are able to ensure society in general keeps functioning and minimizing inequality as a result of the incentive system they encourage. Large businesses are 'forced to train workers' to get tax breaks. 10x individuals are 'encouraged to start businesses that become large by getting tax breaks and the government can get their taxes from the low level workers employed by large businesses. Large businesses that deviate from these are tax heavily to discourage the behavior.
Are there gaps in my thinking on possible concerns and if this already exists anywhere? #asknostr

Reading the rationale by Adam back about why op return was added in the first place. it could be argued the rationale made sense at that time since bitcoin wasn't as popular as it is now (over a trillion market cap). Everyone knows using bitcoin as storage is a bad idea and should be actively discouraged. Why isn't social shaming a thing here? Bending over to accommodate this sends the wrong message. Even when working with others, and especially on existing projects, that's how I mostly work. I'm still familiar with all the obvious software development practices. It is just, I don't dwell too much on a written well thought out plan (things change more often). The way I see it, the "plan" is being developed mentally as I attempt to solve the problem

I don't know if it's just me but I dislike having to come up with a comprehensive plan of what I need to build before build it. I would end up getting tired and loosing interest completely unlike just jumping on the problem and going with the flow, backtracking when new information comes up to ensure things are done well and actually testing hypothesis on the fly.
It sounds counterintuitive to how most software engineering processes work but it hasn't failed me yet for the 15+ years building software.

I guess I'm not too shocked by this. Any company in the ads business is probably doing something similar. It's a good thing I don't have Instagram or Facebook installed on my device and haven't visited the site since 2017.
The native app is basically running a background service that the web pixel connects to. So it isn't really a problem with web browsers.
