The main difference between #Cordn and #Concord is that Cordn is based upon MLS and therefore has a coordinator server and forward secrecy, while Concord is client-relay-client.
Concord is not as secret (if the key leaks, everyone can read everything from that epoch, and keys aren't associated with devices, so they're easy to share with people outside the group), but it's able to handle larger groups with less overhead, and you don't need to run a server. (You don't need to run one with Cordn, either, as you can use existing coordinators, but there are more relays than coordinators.)
Concord seems to be aiming more at the Discord market, and Cordn is aiming more at Signal. I am going to implement Cordn in my Imwald Android app once it's a bit more mature and just not bother ever implementing DMs (since 2 people in a Cordn room is effectively the same as a DM).

That's because most people use cash money primarily as a currency (trading token) and measure, not as a savings vehicle. As long as the value of the money stays relatively stable over the course of a couple of months, it works fine as a currency. You just have to spend it within those months.
Most people and businesses scrape by, from month to month, so they just don't really give a shit about inflation unless it goes above 50% per annum or so.

Well, relay.tools got some funding, way back in the day, and that runs TheForest. And my #Imwald is a hard-fork off of Jumble.
But it gets pretty thin, beyond that. I'm alpha-testing #Cordn, for messaging, but I don't think they have funding. Amethyst/Citrine/Amber, maybe? 🤔

I just built a massive image pipeline to ensure that there is at least some imeta data in there. But it's possible to have an imeta tag without an x tag, just the url and a blurhash, or something. I can't force people to use that and I don't see it as a blocker for rendering.

Explain why this makes you angry. To get the x tag, the client needs to be able to examine the actual, downloaded file, which they don't have if someone uses a URL, instead of upload, unless they download every image file copy-pasted in by URL.

It takes a while for the i2P route to build up, and then it works normally. So, there's about a 2-minute lag, when starting. But it's a mobile app, so just leave it running, once it's open.

https://jumble.imwald.eu/ is my web-desktop client, but I am fiddling with a native Android (Kotlin) version that is smoother than the PWA.
Will take another week of testing and fiddling to finish, but it's already my favorite app because the design is weirdly simple, but it does everything I want and is actually highly complex under the hood. It feels like an IQ test because it's like WTF is this?, and that is what is fun about it.
And it's a zap-free zone. Payment targets and emoji reactions galore. 😁 🤷‍♀ 😎

Okay, updated the **Obsidian Scriptorium plugin**. It supports kinds 1, 11, 30023, 30040/41, 30817, and 30818 kinds by default. But you can now edit my default kind templates add custom templates. That means you can publish any event you want, with it, even new ones you've made up.
Corrected some security holes, removed some unnecessary functions, cleaned up the code base, updated the packages, and did some manual testing. Instructions revamped and I added screenshots.
Remember, **this is a comfortable way to publish e-books to Nostr**.

And Nostriches can vote on which version they think is better.

Ah, I had it as a read-only relay, as it constantly throws errors that it doesn't allow posting. I am implementing an override, so that responding to any relay on the single-relay page always attempts to write to that relay and only that relay.

If you go to Settings --> Cache there is an import form. You can just copy-paste in the json event or upload a jsonl file. That loads it into your local indexeddb and you can then broadcast it to other relays, if you like.
Means you don't need a relay to move an event.

I'm old enough to remember the beginning of the Internet. People will tend to go where other people are doing stuff, talking, interacting. Even if the topic seems weird, esoteric, too technical, etc. They'll actually start trying to adopt the lingo and join in.
Nostr is, arguably, one of the most intensely human-occupied digital spaces. Even the bots (on the opinionated relays), tend to be purpose-built to accomplish some task for the users, rather than being mere spam or creepy pretend-humans.
We're creating a human-led, global and universal space, untied to a particular government or payment rail. I think there is a market for this, in particular, and such spaces always start small and familial. They have to be insular, for a while, so that they can strengthen themselves, before they begin coming under attack.

A NIP is defined as
1) a spec in the NIP GitHub repo or
2) an implementation in at least two different clients and a relay
If you build it, and someone else also builds or uses it, it's automatically a NIP. You don't have to submit anything.
