Last Notes npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz TIL. Reminds me of communist Romania when every typewriter was registered with the state authorities and each had a slight difference in the way certain characters looked or were positioned to make it uniquely identifiable. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Corollary: corruption is what makes humanity still possible. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Sounds like top-down planning which will always fail. You can't start a community by deciding to "start a community". Either it happens naturally or it doesn't. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Is there such a thing as an Android Blossom client? If not, why not? Wouldn't that essentially be my own cloud (assuming I run my Blossom server)? I know many Nostr clients upload to Blossom, but what I am looking for is different: not a client that I use to post notes, but one that I use to manage my files... npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz I will... Although my app has just GitHub and no home page yet... npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Well, most programmers really do write code like that anyway... npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Bitcoin is what fixes the unit. That's the whole point. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz A blosscast? npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Anything Jabra has been great! npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Actually Nostr was created for NIP-15 not NIP-15 for Nostr, the way I have read it in the history books. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz What is *the* NIP-23 (long form) client these days? Habla seems dead. Prophet is dead. Blogstack... is it still a thing? Nobody else innovating in this field? npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Lol, I still can't wrap my head around how zaps work. Give me another year... npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Remember NIP-69, @npub1a3u…mdj6 ? npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Up from 95 a week ago. IDK... npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Dipping? Turn your phone around. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz I've read your article but I don't understand what the issue is (except the ugly JSON DMs) or why you need a bot to do anything. Have a look at some existing NIP-15 implementations. They work as intended with no manual intervention from the seller. Your proposal for merchant delegation is nice BTW. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz So account switchers are better. Nostr is still early and has plenty of catch up to do. FB and IG have the best UX. It couldn't be simpler than that. Also: there is a reason why people want different accounts. They don't want the multiple accounts "merged" into one. One switch to move the whole context to another account. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Agree on NIP-98, actually. So I do get your point now - finally. But then - NIP-98 does not compete with Blossom, only NIP-96 is. Of course it is a bummer that Blossom chose to *not* use NIP-98 for authentication. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz I think you mean NIP-96. I know you have a strong opinion on this, but Blossom just seems to be winning. Would be interesting if you talked about NIP-96 next time you joined some podcast. Or if you wrote a post explaining why you think it is better. I'm surely not the only one comparing the two. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz I'm not a paleo weirdo, but deodorant? Why would you use that? It's as useless as sunscreen. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Nip-98 over Blossom you say? npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz They have some shitcoin reward indeed, I always just ignored that. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz I used it for a couple of years. It's what you describe: top up BTC and spend fiat. Another one I used is Crypto.com, also good, but slightly different: you top up the card with fiat converted from BTC you have in your account. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Wirex? npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz NOthing Stops this TRain? npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Is Primal using relays to *read* data? I thought it is just *writing* to relays and using their caching service to read. I might be wrong though. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Building is much more expensive than buying. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Speaking of spam accounts... npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz The grumpy hornets. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Bitcoin doesn't need politicians. This is disgusting. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz I feel you, brother! Sometimes I am so disappointed by bitcoiners and by the direction we are going that I just want to forget it all and do something completely unrelated. But then again, discovering Bitcoin is what made me excited about technology again, after years of believing it is all useless... npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Even Nostr is still widely misunderstood. People assume you can build stuff "on Nostr" as you would build a "dapp" (whatever that means) "on Ethereum". Platforms - of which Ethereum and the like are the culmination - are a mind virus that skews your whole world view. A "dapp" cannot logically be built "on a platform". It has to be a stand-alone app that you can self-host and which *uses* open protocols, such as Bitcoin and Nostr to interact with other apps. #[0] npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Nostr and REST can cohabit peacefully. There is no reason to be a Nostr maximalist. See Blossom, for example. It works *together with* Nostr rather than trying to mutate Nostr into what it is not. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz We need ETFs and Trump! npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz NIP-96 is dead. Long live Blossom. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz The difference is in the way most people build nostr apps. Most nostr apps use the nostr relays both for data storage and as actual relays (to relay data between the entities storing the data and the client apps). In Bluesky there is a clear distinction between relays and PDSes, both of which you can self-host, which makes the model much easier to understand, which in my opinion is a huge plus. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Why are they called "progressives" when they are in fact "resetists"? How is a reset a form of progress? npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Yeah we tried to avoid touching the private key. This is the best we came up with... 6 months ago or so. Since then we pretty much rewrote the whole thing, including the log in. The new version just asks your extension to sign an event, but the event never gets sent to relays. Coming very soon. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz The new version, with improved Nostr log in, is not live yet. Coming in 2 weeks. Final bug fixes and testing underway. What you tried is a very old version of our Nostr log in which worked by sending you a DM. We use the extension to log in now. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Hey, I also claimed this by DM-ing you, but no reply. npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Oh, no! npub1lxpdhu4q5jjgfjvvtjachqapajhktzwtyefwryupzk94v3h7y0tqtx73vg ibz Twitter was kinda boring lately anyway.
