Turns out… Neither is wrong — they’re just different transliteration systems. “Chinggis Khaan” follows the Mongolian government’s official romanization, while “Genghis Khan” is the older Persian-influenced spelling that stuck in English.
If you’re writing about Mongolia, use the official one. If you’re writing for a general English audience, either works.

To be fair. I’m a life-long NYer and even though I love this city and appreciate the toughness that comes with being raise here… I don’t want to raise my kids in this city because of the state it’s in right now with drugs and crime. Too much noise and chaos day to day.
China isn’t that radical, they just enforce their existing laws, so anyone who F’s around… is kept separate from those who participate constructively in society.
They have social services for those that fall through the cracks, to get them back on track. In those welfare programs are more effective than the ones we have.
There are arbitration courts for discrepancies…
But I feel safer in China than I do in in NYC in 2026.
As a new parent, that’s what colors my perspective.

I have a unique perspective on this because I went to China for the first time with the mindset of a freedom, loving libertarian vehemently against communism and everything that stands for…
As it turns out, the world‘s oldest civilization has experienced all the same difficulties, other societies struggle with, and they have found unique solutions of those problems
Most people, like me, will not be bothered by their surveillance and social credit system
But if you are not an honorable player in the space, you will not have a good time scamming in China
I had free and more open conversations in China than I do in America, and our perspective about them is 100% wrong
